And another one bites the dust…

Being that this post is in regard to the death of Corey Haim, is the title of this post a little insensitive? A little too soon?

But, come on, seriously, how many time does this have to happen to before people start understanding. You can't live life without concern for consequences and never expect anything to catch up with you.

I grew up watching Corey Haim. I seriously have no idea how many times I have watched The Lost Boys or Lucas. Corey Haim and Corey Feldman were EVERYWHERE!

It was not surprising to find out that he had been struggling with a drug problem for quite some time, but I had hope for him. I thought he might be one of the few that actually make it. I guess I was wrong. Now Corey Haim is just another statistic. He falls into the same category as Chris Farley and Heath Ledger; another young man who should have lived a lot longer, but the path he chose didn't allow that to happen.

This is so sad! It just seems like every time we turn around, it's someone else. It makes me so angry! I'm tired of seeing young people die because of stupid choices!

While I feel for Corey Haim's family, I can't help but be upset that it seems to be the same ole thing. Same song, umpteenth verse…it sucks! Just makes you wonder who is going to be next?

I'm sure something else will turn up on the news within a month or so.

What about you? What are your thoughts? I'd really like to know I'm not the only one who feels this way.

Happy Toy Day!

Happy Toy Day!

In honor or Barbie's birthday…

You don't have to celebrate Barbie….

But what why not reminisce about your favorite toys from when you were a child?

These are a few of my favorites that I remember.

Please tell me that someone else remembers some of these?

1. Nosey Bear

This was my absolute favorite stuffed animal. I remember getting one for Christmas when I was about 5 or 6. I loved it…it went everywhere with me. Then, when I was about 15, I accidently left it in a hotel. I was devastated…I cried for 2 days!

2. Troll Dolls (of course)

I don't even remember how many of these I had; way too many I'm sure.

3. Slap Bracelets

4. Popples

5. Play-Doh

What about you?

Tell me about some of your favorite toys…

Leprechauns and green

I love the month of March for many reasons:

  1. Spring time is coming
  2. Hubbins birthday
  3. Spring break
  4. Only one more month until my birthday
  5. Lots of rain
  6. Weather is getting warmer

But probably my most favorite aspect of the month of March is…

ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

I absolutely love this holiday. I love everything about this holiday. I love the abundance of green, I love the mythology surrounding the day, I love the tradition that comes with the day, I love the décor that is seen everywhere you go, EVERYTHING about this day makes me happy.

I love Leprechauns!

I love pots of gold at the end of a rainbow!

I love Irish drinking songs!

I love shamrocks!

I love that I have Irish ancestors (my great-grandfather came from Ireland)

I love the legend of St. Patrick and the clover.
